VR Action Game (Unreal 4)

Nov 2020 - Dec 2020

Team Size: 1

Crate Dropper is a 2-week long VR project and my first game in Unreal Engine 4. The goal for this game was to make a fast pace frantic feeling for the player, while incorporating a little bit of voice over to add some story. The player must react quickly as crates fall form above, the player will ether grab the falling crates with their hand or trusty grabber. They must then put them on the correct conveyer belt, if missed the water level will rise, if it gets to high the player will lose.

Mechanics:

The player must ether catch or use the grabber barrel to catch falling crates from above and put them on their appropriate conveyer belt. The conveyer belts will then move the crates off to the drop off points were they can be added to the score board.

Scoreboard:

When a crate goes to the end of their conveyer belt their color will be taken away from the score board. Once all colors are equal to 0 the player will win that section of the level, and move onto the next stage.

Recycle Bin:

The recycle bin is in front of the player on certain levels. When the player puts a crate inside the bin it will be destroyed and not add to the rising water levels.

Rising Water:

For ever crate that falls into the water the water level will raise. Once the water level raises to a certain height the player will lose and have to repeat that certain section of the level.

Voice Overs:

Before, after, and if the player fails any level a voice over will be played. This voice is of a deranged serial killer that has captured you and making you play this game. He will proceed to taunt the player and make fourth wall breaking style jokes.
